    ABOUT BEAUTY FROM ASHES RANCH/ HOPE RISING ARIZONA:

    Opened in February of 2025, Hope Rising Arizona (HRA), a 501(c)(3) Christian non-profit is a safe sanctuary to help survivors of sexual trafficking and exploitation heal from complex trauma and. We seek to serve these adult female survivors (18 - 30ish) with the same love that God has for all His creation, and we believe these women are created in His image, full of life, worth and purpose. 

    We are a long-term ranch sanctuary (18 - 24 months) where survivors live in safety, reacclimate to life, find healing for their trauma, and are empowered to build the lives that they deserve through education and skill development. Residents live at the ranch on their own accord, and HRAZ’s goal is that our survivors will eventually transition into a new life of independence and purpose. 

    JOB OVERVIEW:

    As an essential part of the Beauty From Ashes Ranch/ Hope Rising Arizona team, this individual will ensure a nurturing and supportive on-site evening and weekend day environment to aid in addressing the diverse needs of survivors, and to ultimately help residents progress in healing from the traumatic effects of human trafficking. The Resident Support Specialist (RSS) ensures a safe and ‘family-like’ environment so our survivors can learn essential life skills and begin to build healthy relationships. Working closely with the Program Director (PD), the RSS will help execute the overall daily experience for our survivor residents. This experience entails the RSS’s support for residents’ scheduled programming and BFAR/ HRA policy enforcement. 

    Neither the BFAR/HRA organization, nor its staff, will provide any direct clinical mental health or medical health care services, but the on-site Resident Support Specialist, coordinating with the Program Director, will encourage and ensure appropriate access to clinical services for our residents. The RSS position will take on responsibilities related to the resident experience that include companionship, some activities, discussions, lessons, encouragement, reassurance, and redirection as needed. The ideal candidate is a caring, patient, and policy-abiding individual who is flexible, empathetic, reliable, and driven to provide our survivor residents with an effective and meaningful day-to-day experience at the Beauty From Ashes Ranch/ Hope Rising Arizona.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsible for upholding HRAZ policies.

    Lead a weekend class/activity/outing corresponding to the theme of the week.

    Supervise residents, ensuring safety.

    Oversee access to medications for residents at evening and morning medication time.

    Oversee residents’ 15 minute evening phone calls to approved family members or friends.

    This is an evening position during the week and a daytime position on the weekend. RSC will lead and demonstrate dinner and breakfast prep with the residents.

    Assisting in providing a kind and nurturing environment that embodies God’s love for us all.

    Responsible for assisting with activities of daily living at the ranch that aid residents in learning life skills, such as: making sure resident’s chores are accomplished, helping organize residents’ groceries, supplies, and activities by writing lists and calendars, and may include medication reminders/access to medication storage, helping residents with meal prep, cooking, proper storage of food, and meal cleanup, among others.

    Responsible for notifying PD of any safety concerns, or observations directly impacting the quality of care for any resident.

    Maintains all resident information in a confidential manner and in compliance with HIPAA standards.

    Important notes for potential applicants:

    The ranch is a 24 hour, long-term sanctuary for survivors of human trafficking. 

    This is a 40 hour per week salaried position. A typical work week for this position is: 5pm - 8am two weekdays, and 7:30am - 5:30pm either Saturday OR Sunday each week. (Three total shifts per week).

    The ranch's location is undisclosed for security purposes. It is in Southern Arizona, roughly a 45-minute drive from Tucson.

    This position is safety sensitive position responsibile for their own safety and the safety of residents and volunteers. The RSS must execute duties with a clear mind.

    DIRECT REPORT STRUCTURE

    The Resident Support Specialist (RSS) reports to the Program Director (PD)

    The RSS staff will assist the PD in maintaining a safe and organized daily ranch life for the residents. 

    The Board of Directors is entirely volunteer, and the RSS will be one of five hired staff positions in the organization after the Program Director and Executive Director.

    Once BFAR/ HRA begins welcoming residents to the ranch, the PD will transition to working, in conjunction with the RSS, most days at the ranch to ensure a powerful, effective, and consistent daily programmed experience for our residents.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES

    A person with a strong personal relationship with God who is able to coach, teach and encourage others forward in their respective spiritual journeys.

    Ability to relate to residents in an instructive, directive, firm yet compassionate, and Christ-like manner.

    Can lead a group discussion, lesson, or activity.

    An empathetic person who understands people matter more than processes and that processes serve people, not the other way around.

    Knows how to organize, instruct, and execute the process that goes into making a meal. (Simple meals are fine. Healthy meals are key! This is a family-oriented life skill they will use forever).

    Able to plan, teach, prep, prepare weeknight dinners and weekend breakfasts with the residents.

    A minimum of two years in a programmed experience setting, where clients, students, peers, or on-site residents' growth and personal development were the primary focus.

    Familiarity with and ability to use software or apps such as Google Workspace apps (Drive, Docs, etc.) and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.).

    Able to lead both complementary and corrective conversations with residents.

    Calmness in reacting to highly emotional, volatile, or reactive environments.

    Ability to work patiently with clients and staff and be motivated to help people in challenging situations

    Responds to direct phone, text, or email inquiries quickly or within a reasonable amount of time to the request, action, or question.

    Is self-aware as a human being and very comfortable receiving coaching, direction, and correction from managers and Board members.

    Able to bend at the waist and lift items up to 50 lbs. to waist level.

    Adaptable and comfortable interacting with individuals of diverse personality types, philosophies, cultures, and ideologies.

    Must be able to hold information in confidence, pass a background check, and be willing to sign a Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA)

    Transport residents if PD is unavailable.

    Those with behavioral health, case management, teaching, trauma-informed care and social work experience are encouraged to apply!


    PREFERRED SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES

    Supervisory experience of students, residents, clients, patients, etc.

    Certificates or degrees in the following listed fields, but not limited to: Behavioral Health, Nurses Assistant, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Seminary, etc.).

    Bilingual Spanish/English.

    Experience or familiarity with practicing de-escalation.

    CPR & First Aid, Recovery Specialist, or Sheltered Care certifications are a plus.

    Prior experience as a behavioral health technician, direct care provider, teacher, social worker, or case manager.

    Familiarity with trauma-informed care and the needs common among complex trauma survivors (PTSD, Addiction recovery, mental health, etc.).

    Experience working with individuals who have been affected by sexual exploitation, assault, and other types of trauma.

We are a long-term ranch sanctuary where survivors will live in safety, reacclimate to life, find healing for their trauma, and get an education to build the lives that they deserve. Residents live at the ranch on their own accord, and HRAZ’S goal is that whether it takes one year or five years, survivors will one day leave the ranch and transition to a new life. This life will be filled by the love of God, free from trauma and shame, and fully equipped for a life of purpose. We plan to welcome our first 4-6 survivor residents starting in February 2025 and grow to a total capacity of 20+ residents within a few years.

    JOB OVERVIEW:

The Resident Assistant (RA) ensures a safe and ‘family-like’ environment so our survivors can learn essential life skills and begin to build healthy relationships. Neither the HRAZ organization, nor its staff provide any direct clinical mental health or medical health care services, but the on-site RA, coordinating with the Program Director, encourages and reminds residents to following any treatment plans prescribed by an external provider. The RA position will take on responsibilities related to the resident experience that include companionship, light evening activities, games hobbies, discussions, encouragement, prayer, reassurance, and redirection as needed. The ideal candidate is a caring, patient, and policy-abiding individual who is flexible, empathetic, reliable, and driven to provide our survivor residents with an effective and meaningful overnight experience at Hope Rising Arizona.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsible for upholding HRAZ policies.

    This is an overnight position, RA will lead, rochestrate and teach residents anythign with regard to dinner preparation..

    Oversee access to medications for residents administer to themselves at evening medication time.

    Oversee any residents’ 15 minute evening Zoom phone calls to approved family members or friends.

    Sleep overnight in the staff’s bedroom in the resident’s house.

    Supervise residents, ensuring safety.

    Track any case management notes or medication notes specific to each shift.

    Assists in providing a kind and nurturing environment that embodies God’s love for us all.

    Responsible for assisting with activities of daily living at the ranch that aid residents in learning life skills, such as: healthy bedtime routine, helping residents with meal prep, cooking, proper storage of food, and meal cleanup, medication reminders/access to medication room, completing homework and may include among others, making sure resident’s chores are accomplished, helping organize residents’ groceries, supplies, and activities by writing lists and calendars.

    Responsible for notifying the Assistant Program Director with any safety concerns, or observations directly impacting the quality of care for any resident.

    Maintains all resident information in a confidential manner and in compliance with HIPAA standards.

    Important notes for potential applicants:

    The ranch is a 24 hour, long-term sanctuary for survivors of human trafficking..

    This is a 17 hour per week part time position (68 hours per month). The RA shift is a weekend overnight shift, either Friday, Saturday or Sunday from 4:30pm - 8:30am, with occasional flexibility to switch shifts with other RA’s if need be. There will also be occasional paid staff meetings or trainings.

    The ranch's location is undisclosed for security purposes, in Southern Arizona, roughly a 45-minute drive from downtown Tucson. 

    This position is safety sensitive, where the employee has the responsibility for their own safety and the safety of other residents and volunteers. The RA must execute duties with a clear mind.

    Hired are not allowed to use marijuana or THC recreationally or prescribed due to insurance liability, given the high level of responsibility with our residents.
